Buy X Get Y Free Still Not There

I brought this up at least three times AFTER the 4.0 betas started coming alive and every time I was quickly told by TWT to wait as this feature was about to be implemented in the next beta or RC. Mind you this is NOT a NEW feature, it is already in 3.5 but it is premature and limited. I was under the impression that 4.0 would finally take care of it and make it right but now it does not even exist!. So much for an improvement!

I went on to the online demo "Add discount" and it cannot be done there, I went to product details and it cannot be done there. If I am missing this can someone please tell me where it is and how it is done. I am ready to eat the humble pie here, please tell me I am wrong because the little voice in my head says TWT is trying to get away without this essential -once existed- feature. Trust me this is not about bashing TWT, I hope I am wrong, I hope that -may be- their online demo is not the latest RC version available.

I see, TWT admin responded to other posts yesterday but mine, that means I was right and all the "will do" responses were empty promises. Think about a shopping cart software where "BUY X units GET Y units Free" option does not even exist anymore and THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN IMPROVEMENT! ?, un-freaking-believable. and if TWT was not going to do this why everytime I brought this up I was told to wait and not rush to any conclusions. Is not this called "lying" ?

I really don't understand what the problem is exactly. The functionality is there as I stated many times it simply just needs to be refined which we will be doing before the final version. If we said it will make the final version then IT WILL make the final version. Please be patient.

Have you even tried to set this up? If you attempted it at least you will probably see that it does in fact work. You simply need to think at a pricing level instead of just at a buy x get x free level. It all works out the same.

Hm. It sounds (just from reading vegvit's first post) that it's unclear *how* to set it up. Perhaps a note about how to do it?

Volume pricing and "BUY X GET Y units FREE" are two different things. Of course I have tried several times , no matter what you think they are not the same thing. What you are referring is simply setting pricing points based on volume, and it is way less flexible. It does not have the same "closing" effect or the thrill of "BUY X GET Y FREE" promotion. They are different things. For example BUY 3 GET 1 FREE is simple to understand, gets the message across, you do not have to get your calculator to decipher the Volume pricing table. When you set up pricing levels it simply creates a pricing table in the product details, that's not a "BUY X GET Y FREE" promotion. It is not even close. You stating they are the same thing makes me worried, if TWT has such a limited vision about marketing tools what are we going to expect from you in future releases. It is like saying Sweet'n Low and Sugar are the same thing, they are not.

Now if you are planning to implement a real "BUY X GET Y FREE" feature in a way I do not understand by looking at the administration panel then please explain how it works because from what I have seen so far there is no such thing in 4.0.
