Good day,
Presently we are testing with an inventory that is well or 2000 items and this is will be going to 4000 plus on the next run.
With a large inventory the ability to be able to search by product detail options is required for global changes to the options.
Options: Meta Title, META Keywords, META Description, Manufacturer, Available to, Charge Tax yes, Charge Tax no, New Item yes, New Item no, Featured item yes, Feature Item no, Viewable yes, Viewable no.
Also Specials and Bestsellers and Sale items.
The ability to search for secondary assigned options, Ship, Images, Categories, attributes, Pricing, Files, Related would be of great help also.
At present in order to make a change we are faced with jumping back and forth from the Front End to the Admin Area and even with this the is no ability at all to be able to group areas like Meta Tag sections and others.
I do understand that at a first glance that a coder may go, What is he insane with such a suggestion LOL, however there is great merit to this when it comes to a large amount of inventory.
The ability to administrate a program in a time effective manner is major factor when it comes to whether or not a program will be chosen for use.
I have no doubt missed a few things in the above information, however, there should be enough there to draw a picture of what I am getting at.
NOTE for the following: I have not checked out the Admin section as of yet, only the Front end, therefore, the following statement may or may not have merit towards the Admin section.
We will implement some of this in-house during our testing but for certain areas it is looking like the directions for coding that we can go during implementing changes is going to be limited by the encryption.
Thank you for your time and please let me know your thoughts on this.
NOTE!!: To those that read this and wonder how long this would take!
First off this is not a concern for the program unless large inventory quantity exists, also this suggestion is for something that may not be in the scope of the targeted group that Sun Shop is designed for.
To implement the above would take a fair bit of work and if TWT chose to do this it would most likely be on a long term planning list, not short term, Also I would not expect this to be near the top of their list of priorities as this would be an extra, it is not a bug or mandatory requirement.
