I'm very impressed with 4.0. However, some important features should be implemented into the Product OPTIONS tool. This is a major shortcoming, yet so vital for almost any business that has variety in their product line. In fact, this is such a short-coming and potential overlook that I'm almost in regret of my purchase. So, I hope the following areas can be quickly corrected before the final 4.0 release.
1) The Options module does not include the ability to change the SKU upon an "options" selection. Example: I have a product that comes in 9 different flavors, each with their own SKU. Now, It's not very feasable to clone this item 9 different times and force the customer to search through the catalog to see all the different flavors. So, it should be selectable, and the SKU should change with each selection.
2) The Options module does not allow me to enter a LIST and OUR PRICE for options. This is bad because if I have different sizes for like-items, which means BOTH the list and catalog price will increase. Simply entering the "difference" won't adjust the LIST price correctly. And, "No", I'm not about to shut off the List price as my prices are impressively lower, which helps my sales angle.
Bottom line, anyone in the retail industry KNOWS the Options module isn't useful as a real-world tool. This post is not intended to insult the TWT team. You guys are intellegent and 4.0 can be MUCH more effective to probably 99% of all online stores, with fixes to the above issues.
Thanks TWT for all your hardword thus far!!!!:D
