Now that 4.0 is coming to a close, may I suggest an API to the admin section of 4.0. Being a developer, I use sunshop on a few sites. These sites always have a central adminstartion area to manage many different areas of the website.
What I end up doing is a combo of interfacing directly with the database and framing the sunshop admin section, or hacking the admin section to include links to other items that need to be control on the website.
An API would greatly help in this venture...
Also some type of client login share would be nice so that can share a central user database for the shopping cart, forums, helpdesk, etc...
For example, vBulletin, Kayako, and AWBS can all use the same login for all 3...
